This research, with a pragmatic approach and relying on John Searle's speech act theory, analyzes the conflicting discourse of truth and falsehood in verses 49 to 59 of Surah Taha. The speech act theory, which was first established by John Austin with the threefold distinction of "expressive act, purposive act, and affective act," and then developed by John Searle by presenting a fivefold classification (declarative, persuasive, imperative, declarative, and emotional acts) of speech acts, presents the narrative of the confrontation between Moses (pbuh) and Pharaoh in Surah Taha as a clear symbol of this discursive confrontation, a rich scene of purposeful linguistic acts before the researcher. The present research, with a descriptive-analytical method and relying on interpretive data, seeks to answer the main question of how the types of speech acts in this debate have been distributed and implemented and how have they served the guiding goals of the Quran? The findings show that the discourse of truth (Moses (AS)) is based on three pillars: declarative actions based on rational and divine authority, guiding persuasive actions, and decisive and clear declarative actions. In contrast, the discourse of falsehood (Pharaoh) mainly uses domineering and intimidating persuasive actions, distorting and reducing statements, and declarative actions based on situational authority. On the one hand, this research is a step towards understanding the pragmatic layers of the Quran and the richness of reading religious texts with new linguistic tools, and on the other hand, it provides a practical model for analyzing contemporary confrontational discourses.
