Ashura Ziarat, apart from its popular account which comes from later manuscripts of the book "Misbah al-Motehajjid" of Shaikh Tusi, has also two other accounts transmitted from the book "Kamil al-Ziarat" by Ibn Qulovaih and also the first manuscripts of the book "Misbah al-Motehajjid" of Shaikh Tusi. It is notable that in none of those unpopular accounts of this Ziarat we can find the phrase "begin with curse the first and then the second and the third and the forth" as we now find it in the popular account. In this paper different forms of this phrase have been compared to each other and accordingly it is claimed that the popular account should be rejected by these considerations: its antiquity, the validity of its source, authenticity of its sanad, consistency of the phrase mentioned with another passages of the Ziarat and its consistency with the way of living of the Imams.
