The adaptation of Shia narrative interpretations shows the difference in the approach of their authors towards the problem of distorting the Qur'an. This shows that the owners of narrative interpretations, like other commentators, influenced by the contextual conditions, selecting and arranging their narrations or words and phrases, to express their views. The performance of Ayashi, Firat Kufi, and the author of Qomi's commentary, one of the early authors of Shia and Hawizi narrative commentaries, and Bahrani, one of the later authors of these commentaries, shows their belief in the occurrence of distortions in the Qur'an. This is while Faiz Kashani, unlike his other contemporaries and predecessors, emphasizes the non-distortion of the Qur'an. Theological controversies between Shia and Sunni scholars and the confrontational approach of anti-Sunni among the early narrative interpretations and the existence of a news tendency among the authors of the later narrative interpretations, which is characterized by tolerance in accepting the traditions, are among the factors that influence the credibility. On the other hand, the rationalistic side of Faiz Kashani's thought was influenced by his philosophical thinking, so that he, unlike others, rejects the belief in the distortion of the Qur'an as an irrational belief and contrary to wisdom.
