Abstract

Some Shiite scholars, relying on traditions, believe that verse 52 of Surah Al-Ahzab was abrogated by verse 50; Therefore, contrary to the meaning of this verse, new marriages were permissible for the Prophet (PBUH) even after the revelation of this verse. "Re-reading and evaluating the abrogation of verse 52 of Surah Al-Ahzab", "providing realistic analyzes of the marriages of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), "assessing the possibility of using this verse in explaining the cultural developments of early Islam", etc. reveals The analysis of verses and traditions shows that the view of this verse being outdated faces many challenges; Because: First: There is no conflict between this verse and the abrogated verse; Secondly: In the cancellation, the abrogated must precede the abrogated; While verse 50 is in the Quran before verse 52, and their content confirms this order; Thirdly: the cited narrations are the same news; Therefore, the view of cancellation is not only inappropriate; But it also faces many obstacles. The non-acceptance of the abrogation of this verse provides the basis for "a detailed analysis of the marriages of the Prophet (PBUH)" and "explaining the gradual method of the Qur'an in limiting the number of wives of a man".
