Abstract

Muslim thinkers have put forward many opinions about the nature of "Islam", its components and its effects, and how to attribute a person as a Muslim. Shahrour, as one of the activists of the modern sufficiency Quranic approach, believes that according to the verses of the Quran, "Islam" is a natural religion that began with Noah (pbuh) and ended with Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). And it has three main pillars: "faith in God and Day of Resurrection" "righteous action". Therefore, all people who follow these three pillars are called Muslims and their beliefs are accepted by God.This research, with the help of the MAXQD software, while explaining Shahrour's thought and his understanding of the Qur'anic verses about "Islam", the shortcomings and criticisms on it and the differences between his view and the prevailing thought of Muslim scholars in a critical analytical manner. has done. What was obtained in the analysis of the content of Shahrour's phrases under the theme of Islam and its pillars and surrounding issues indicated the fallacy in the definition of "Islam", "nature" and "righteous action" and the fallacy in extending the innate attribute of "Islam" to its pillars. . Also, in the theory of "three pillars of Islam", the present goodness in the practical dimension is neglected and "righteous action" is considered as the nature of Islam, while according to the verses of the Quran and traditions, "righteous action" is considered as a necessary part of Islam. Also, in this theory, "righteous action" and "charity" are confused.
