Abstract

Among the stories in different chapters of Holy Quran the story of Joseph in "Joseph chapter" is the best one that has been considered by Scholars. Some of the narratives interpreting this chapter collected in Sunni and Shiite Hadith collections have been mixed with Israiliat (fabricated Hadiths by Judaism) and this has made misunderstood the character of this Prophet and is in conflict with Shiite principles of Faith. The origin of much of the narratives of Tabari Exegesis and Al-Dor Al-Mansoor of Soyouti was Old Testemant. What has been narrated in Shiite resources does not go further than mentioning these hadiths or repeating them without any explanation.
In this paper all the narratives conflicting with infallibility of Joseph prophet have been criticized so that to prove his infallibility and also to show his real figure based on Holy Quran and firm Hadith.
The main idea of the essay is that there is a kind of similarity between Sunni Hadiths concerning Prophet Joseph and what can be found in Torah in this respect.
