Abstract

One of the branches of ijtihad interpretation is social interpretation, which means consideration of social concepts and real needs of the present times. However, this interpretation has been criticized in terms of methodology. An important criticism is related to the status of religious quotations in the social interpretation of the Qur'an; it has been accused of disregarding the quotations that are of no certainty in the social interpretation of the Qur'an. Religious quotations are mostly uncertain, but discarding them greatly limits the interpretation of the Qur'an and distorts the understanding of the social tenets of the Book. Therefore, the methodological investigation of the place of religious quotations in the social interpretation of the Qur'an is of great importance. In this article, by applying the method of ijtihad and the principles of jurisprudence, religious quotations are validated and their place is investigated in the social interpretation of the Qur'an.
