Abstract
Examining the status of narrators and validating their hadiths is one of the most important steps in determining the reliability and weakness of hadiths. The concept of ghuluw (exaggeration) is an important issue in the criticism of narrators, which leads to the loss of the validity of their hadiths. Among the personalities who have been accused of ghuluw and weakness by rijālī's is Khaybarī b. Alī Al-Ṭahān. This problem has caused doubts about his teachings. This is while, today, using new methods in the field of hadith criticism, it is possible to restore the reliability of the accused narrators or the validity of their narrations. In this research, in addition to collecting and analyzing the data of rijālī's and the information available in Khaybarī traditions, two methods of "historical current" and "narrative content measurement" are used to achieve the desired goal. Based on the first method, the conclusion is that the accusation of ghuluw against Khaybarī is due to the attribution to a movement centered on "Mufaḍal b. Umar Al-Ju'fī" in Kufa, whose associates have been strongly accused of ghuluw. Based on the second method, the result is that, not only among his teachings are there are examples that are in complete opposition to exaggerative behaviors, but also his hadiths have been narrated by other authentic narrators. This shows that "Khaybarī b. Alī " is not alone in his exaggerated narratives. The results of this article can restore the credibility of his narrations and cast doubt on his exaggeration and weakness.
