Abstract
Normative economics is a branch of economics that examines the "dos" and "don’ts" of economic activities by providing prescriptions in this field. Islamic texts, in the form of traditions and religious laws, have elucidated the desired norms. This research employs a descriptive-analytical method and emphasizes on the teachings of Imam Ali (pbuh) to extract and analyze a selection of prominent Islamic economic norms from the verses of the Quran and the traditions of the Ahl al-Bayt in order to achieve a model of financial governance. The findings indicate that the most central economic norms in Islam include establishing economic justice, creating trust and economic security, monitoring economic activities, promoting simple living and contentment, encouraging charity and helping the needy, and maintaining people's hope and satisfaction regarding economic matters. These norms do not define the model of financial governance in isolation; rather, they do within an interconnected system. Economic justice, as the pivot and ultimate goal of this model, directs the other norms. Economic security and monitoring lay the groundwork for the realization of justice, while the norms of simple living, charity, and hope establish the cultural and social context for the consolidation and sustainability of the model.
