Abstract
Verse 101 of An-Nahl is one of the Quranic references of those who argue for abrogation in the Quran; they believe that this verse explicitly refers to the category of abrogation of the Quranic verses; although some research has been done on the content analysis of this verse; but examining the historical interpretation of this verse and the genealogy of the category of abrogation of verses in relation to this verse are important and fundamental issues in understanding this verse. Accordingly, this research has studied the historical interpretation of this verse using a descriptive-analytical method and, while examining the space in which this verse was revealed, it also examines the historical relationship of the abrogated verses with the time of the revelation of this verse. The result of this research shows that the revelation of the abrogated verses was after the revelation of verse 101 of An-Nahl, which shows that the concept of abrogation in relation to this verse is meaningless; because before this verse, there was no abrogation that the polytheists objected to and considered the Quran to be a slander by the Prophet.
