Abstract
Image schemas are one of the topics in cognitive linguistics. The analysis of religious and literary texts based on image schemas can play an effective role in understanding the texts. In other words, image schemas are a type of conceptual construction with a significant impact on cognitive semantics. One of the most important approaches in this field is the theory of image schemas developed by Lakoff and Johnson, which is based on movement, power and volume schemas. The current research is an analytical-descriptive study that investigates image schemas and tries to explain the abstract and mental concepts in Surah Saba based on the theory of image schemas. From the findings of the research, it is inferred that image schemas with a frequency of 61 cases at volume, movement and power levels are found in Surah Saba. Power the movement schemes point to goals and are more compatible with the nature of the surah; they are assigned the second rank. Power schemas have the lowest frequency and reflect abstract concepts in the form of barriers. The presence of visual schemas in Surah Saba has caused abstract concepts to be concretely and widely understood in the mind of the audience.
